Teaching Residents at Teachers College

The Teaching Residents at Teachers College (TR@TC) program is a 14-month graduate-level program that enables TC students to apprentice with experienced teachers in classrooms within high-need New York City schools for one year while earning a master's degree in either Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Intellectual Disabilities/ Autism (IDA) and Secondary Inclusive Education (SIE).  In Addition to the graduate degree, residents will be able to obtain a New York State INITIAL teacher certification in either TESOL or Teaching Students with Disabilities (7-12).

Accepted applicants are offered a substantial scholarship to TC, a $22,500 living stipend and health insurance assistance. After completing the program and attaining certification, students will be required to teach for at least three more years in a high-need New York City urban school.
