This will depend upon the tests. We will ask you to bring and/or fill out paperwork and then proceed to take measurements. These measurements may include assessing your body composition, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. If your appointment includes a metabolic rate test, this will involve lying down and resting for about 30 minutes. If you are doing a VO2 max test, we will review the test protocol with you, fit you with a mask and walk you through the process.

Please arrive at our main entrance, located on the North side of 120th street between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway. Once you enter our building, you will see a security desk. You will need an ID and then the security officer will provide you with a visitor’s pass. Then proceed to 528 West 121st St., which is a high rise building to the left of the main building. We are located on the 10th floor of 528 West 121st St.. Once you arrive on our floor, proceed to our laboratory located at 1049. Bathrooms, where you can change and a drinking fountain are located on the same floor. We do not have any showers.

Please arrive 15 mins early, bring an ID for the security desk and wear or bring clothing and sneakers to exercise in. Please ensure you are well hydrated when you arrive as this will help to ensure accuracy of your body composition analysis. Please do not complete an intense exercise workout within 24 hours of your appointment. Depending upon the tests, we may ask to have access to your arms and/or chest. Women should wear a sports bra under their clothing and men may be asked to temporarily remove their shirt.

You will have the option of signing a voluntary photo release form. If you feel comfortable agreeing to having your image taken, it may appear in our promotional materials on our website or social media platforms.

Depending on which test you are coming in for, we may ask that you come in fasted, or to not eat for 2 hours prior to the test.

Certain tests allow us to give you results the same day, while you may have to wait up to 2 weeks for the results for others tests.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please give 24 hours warning. You may contact us by phone or email.
