Dr. Laura McNeal is a multi-platform law and policy analyst and prominent law and education scholar who has made a national reputation by providing innovative solutions to today’s social issues through her commentary, numerous scholarly publications, and community outreach. Dr. McNeal is currently a Professor of Law at the University of Louisville's Brandeis School of Law where she teaches Education Law, Civil Procedure, Urban Revitalization and the Law and Employment Discrimination. Her scholarly interests examine the intersection of law, education and structural inequality. She recently received the prestigious University Distinguished Faculty Award for Scholarship in recognition of her scholarly accomplishments. She has also worked with the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute at Harvard Law School for 8 years where she conducted empirical legal studies that explore issues of access and equity in education, with a particular emphasis on the school-to-prison pipeline. Dr. McNeal has lectured widely, and contributes to the national debate on education, law, implicit bias, and policing through op-eds and national media appearances on networks such as CNN, MSNBC, News Nation and the Dr. Phil Show.
