Other News:On March 2, 2009, Jody Olsen came to Columbia University to recognize
and commemorate the vibrant partnership it has had with the Peace Corps
since 1961.
Since 1985, when our
Peace Corps Fellows Program was launched as the flagship of the Fellows
USA project, 695 Returned Peace Corps Volunteers have been recruited

The Peace Corps Fellows Program (PCFP) will receive a total of $256,576 in AmeriCorps grants for FY 2009 from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The National Educational Award for FY 2009 ($139,500) will support a total of 93 Professional Corps members who teach full-time in high-needs public schools in New York City and around the country. The National Direct Recovery Grant for FY 2009 ($117,076) will fund a volunteer program to place 28 Teachers College graduate students in volunteer positions with various organizations in northern Manhattan involved in educational initiatives.
