Reminder Posters

After the end of a unit on solving absolute value equations, students seemed to struggle with remembering the steps for solving equations with absolute values and with variables on both sides of the equations. In groups of three, they made posters that now hang in the classroom (even while taking quizzes). These posters contained three components:

1. A title (the name of the concept being emphasized)

2. At least one example of solving an equation.

3. The steps used to solve the equation.

4. A helpful hint to help them remember the idea.
