Rubrics are student generated. We discuss what we think different categories of writing should look like and then we name and identify the characteristics to describe that writing. |
I have found that modeling is useful when teaching peer conferencing. In this lesson clip, I model how to use a rubric in their upcoming conference. There are aspects of the lesson that I would change, but I think this will help you to get an idea the use of modeling. |
When creating questions for the students to answer during their peer conference, I try to vary the types of questions that I ask. They range from very specific to open ended. |
