Feedback Sheets

Rubrics are student generated. They are utilized to help focus the feedback in a peer conference. It is important to note that the students and I negotiate the focus of our study as we try to gain a deeper understanding about our writing.

Open ended questions are included at the bottom of the rubrics so that students can have a space to share deeper insights as well as any other thoughts that they have about their peer's writing.

Checklists are a quick way for students to assess their partner's writing. They can search through the writing quickly to ascertain whether or not certain characteristics of the writing are present.

These checklists are reflective of the work that we do during the unit. The checklists are formulated with the students' needs in mind. Creating these materials brings about a series of choices regarding what to focus on.
