The programs in Bilingual/Bicultural Education (BBE) prepare educators, policy makers and researchers to understand issues surrounding the education of linguistically and culturally diverse students. The programs also develop the understandings and strategies necessary to educate for bi/multilingualism, multiculturalism and cross-cultural understandings, and the use of multiple literacies. The BBE programs do so while noting the differences in educating language minority students, language majority students, and linguistically heterogeneous groups.
