In June 2000 we invited art educators from around the world to submit proposals to present invited seminars at the InSEA 2002 World Congress. Of the 37 proposals submitted by many national and state groups the Congress has selected nine as the Invited Seminars to be presented at the Congress. These Seminars will be forums where invited national and regional groups (representing disciplines of art, art education and culture) present perspectives on art education unique to their national/regional cultural context, and will reflect the diversity of voices in international art education by highlighting art education from parts of the world that are not often represented in international conferences. How Nature Speaks: re-Thinking Aesthetics and Human Relationships with Nature and the Environment. This seminar will consider human relationships with nature presenting perspectives by an environmental philosopher, a museum curator, an artist and an art educator. Case studies are based on experiences from Finland, Lithuania, and Russia. We are bringing "forest culture" back to the art room.
