Professional Development

As a leader in teacher Professional Development on food, nutrition, environment, and health issues the Center for Food & Environment conducts teacher workshops that can be either on specific topics such as food system, gardening, cooking, composting, or behavioral nutrition education. Additionally, through a partnership with the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley, CA that is funded from a grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation we are beginning to develop a network of schools across the country that will use LiFE as their curriculum component in their efforts to change their school lunches and improve student health. Professional Development will be a key component of this work and materials and protocols will be developed for Professional Development to support all of the LiFE modules and the Rethinking School Lunch initiative developed by the Center for Ecoliteracy. Look for more information about the RSL/LiFE Network on the future.
