No matter where you go after graduation, Teachers College is nearby! There are 27 regional TC Facebook Groups around the world (and counting!)—use the map below to find one near you. Join your regional Facebook Group to stay up to date on local TC news and events.

We also have dozens of Regional Group Leaders and Alumni Area Network (AAN) Representatives serving across the globe in grassroots efforts toward community building between local and visiting alumni, and the greater TC community. Regional Group Leaders support the three Major Tier Markets, while AAN Representatives are their counterparts in smaller markets.

Regional Group Leaders


San Francisco, CA

Johanna Brody (M.A. '11) graduated from Teachers College in 2011. She holds a Master of Arts degree and a Professional Certification in elementary education from the Department of Curriculum & Teaching. She has a B.A. in psychology from University of California, Los Angeles and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University. Johanna is a Supervisor with the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute and an Adjunct Faculty member at Holy Names University. Johanna began her career in public relations before transitioning into the realm of education, where she taught kindergarten, first and second grades. Currently, with over two decades of experience in education, she works as an instructional & curriculum coach and supports K-5 educators in the San Francisco Bay Area.

San Francisco, CA

Julia Gelormino (M.A. '12) has broad experience in early childhood and elementary education, drawing from her time in Oakland, Harlem, the Mission, and Bayview-Hunters Point, as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, action researcher, instructional literacy coach, professional development facilitator, and teacher educator. 

Her expertise includes supporting educators in developing effective literacy instruction, facilitating professional learning communities, training teacher candidates, curating family engagement events, and designing curriculum that integrates the arts, service learning, and project based learning.

Julia is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education, holds a master’s of arts degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Education from UC Berkeley.

When she’s not in a school, she loves to swim and explore the Bay Area’s food and wine scene.

 

Washington, D.C.

Nadia Ford (M.A. '22) graduated from Teachers College with an MA in International and Comparative Education. She created a Menstrual Hygiene Management curriculum for her Integrative Project. She currently works at the Institute of International Education as a Program Coordinator with the International Visitor Leadership Program. Prior to TC, Nadia worked in VIentiane, Laos with a Princeton in Asia Fellowship. Nadia’s interest in international education development was sparked at Duke University, where she taught in Zhuhai, China with DukeEngage. In her spare time, Nadia serves as a Grant Writer for I Am A Girl, an NGO in Uganda that focuses on women’s reproductive, financial, and mental well-being.

Philadelphia, PA

Kerry Mallett, HPSE '18, currently lives in Philadelphia and does content strategy and planning for a digital marketing agency. Kerry worked in higher education for 6 years in a variety of roles that focused on student development and positively impacting student behavior and decision-making through educational programming. In her free time, Kerry enjoys exploring art museums in Philly, volunteering for voter turnout-related initiatives, and staying involved in TC and her undergraduate institution, Lehigh University, in a variety of volunteer roles.
