Welcome to the Higher and Postsecondary Education Program
Program Information: About HPSE Internships
Every year the Higher and Postsecondary Education Program (HPSE) places top students from across the country in internship positions within higher education. Internships (practica) provide students in the Program in Higher and Postsecondary Education (HPSE) at Teachers College, Columbia University with professionally supervised, consistent and comprehensive exposure to the roles and functions of a wide variety of administrative offices in higher education. Students pursue internship opportunities which span the three curricular domains that structure the HPSE Program: academic and developmental analysis of HPSE, organizational and institutional analysis of HPSE, and social and comparative analysis of HPSE.
TC's HPSE Program students have served as interns in various positions within student development, academic affairs, admissions, residence life, and multicultural affairs across the New York higher education community including the following institutions: Columbia University, Fordham University, Julliard, American Academy of the Dramatic Arts, and Marymount Manhattan College.
